Note The countermark may perhaps be expanded to μητρόπολις + Βιθυνίας, in which case it would be a countermark of Nicomedia. It is also found on coins of Claudiopolis under Plancius Varus (691/2-3) and of the Bithynian Koinon under Maecius Rufus (604/4 and 6, 612/5).
