Note | Rec gave the reading ΔΙΟΝΥΣΟΣ [ΚΤΙΣΤ Τ]ΕΙΑΝΩΝ. Dionysus is possible at Tium and a similarreading to that given by Rec is found for coins of Trajan (Rec 28). The E inT]EIANΩN does seem clear on the coin, but the possibility that it has beenaltered from a coin of Amastris is discussed below, under Amastris (p. 113). The new specimen (/2) confirms the reading, and is probably from the same dies. |
