Note |
The date has usually been read as ΖΟΣ = 36/35 BC, and the head interpreted as that of Caesarion. But ΖΟΤ seems clear, and the short legend ΔΑΜΑΣ[ΚΗ] is found on another 'pseudo-autonomous' issue of that year (4806). The identification of the obv. is suggested by the cista on the rev. and the occurrence of Dionysus and thyrsi on 4806, but is by no means certain.J. Clark, INR 17, p. 162, suggests the river god Chrysoroas.
