Note |
The obv. heads were interpreted by Babelon (in Wa) as Claudius and Nero (?); Waddington himself (RN, 1851, p. 232), also thought this, and interpreted the rev. busts as the Senate and Alabanda. An identification of the youthful bust on the obv. as Britannicus seems more likely, however, as other coins were struck for him, but none, as far as we know, for Nero under Claudius.
