Note | Obv. legend (if any) illegible. The attribution to Augustus is by no means certain, in view of the illegibility of the obv. If a specimen were found including ΚΤΙΣΤΗΣ, however, the attribution would be confirmed. Otherwise the coin might perhaps be of Tiberius. -- Corr:. This new, and better, specimen (2497/5) suggests that the head is wearing a diadem rather than a wreath. If so it should presumably be attributed to an earlier king of Asia, presumably in the second century. |
