Note Both MacDonald and Johnston read ΝƐΟ Π or ΝƐΟΠ. MacDonald regarded the Π as Celsus' praenomen, but Johnston, p. 84, joined it to ΝƐΟ, interpreting the word as Neopoios = Official in charge of the temple fabric, whereas MacDonald had thought Neokoros). However the reading is ΝƐΟΠΥ, which suggests Neo Pu = Neo Publius.  The use of a praenomen at this date was a mark of distinction (see Hostein & Mairat in Essays Burnett), and the grander Neokoros seems more likely for someone of equestrian rank.
