Note A puzzling coin. The rev. type is common for Elagabalus, when it is an appropriate reflection the foundation of a colony at Petra in his reign, but the use of Greek and the city's title metropolis implies an earlier date. The obv. legend, in addition, also suggests Caracalla, but the choice of type implies the later date.
