Note A problematic type, possibly a forgery. The two specimens are identical. One, at least, must be a cast: probably the Aiello specimen as the striking cracks are partially filled. The diameter and weight of the Turin specimen are indicative of an AE 23 denomination but the dies are too large for the flan and the reverse die is otherwise used for an AE 27.
