Note The coin illustrated by Dattari (RIN 1902, pp. 443-4) looks like another specimen, as far as can be judged from the illustration. However, Savio (no. 4) regards it as a variety of the radiate head/crescent coins, probablywrongly in view of the illustration and Dattari's comments, which implythat the head was not radiate. Cf. coins of Nero, year 5. See A. Burnett, 'The Alexandrian coinage of Caligula', in D. Gerin, A. Geissen, and M. Amandry (eds), Aegyptiaca serta in Soheir Bakhoum memoriam. Mélanges de numismatique, d’iconographie et d’histoire, Collezioni Numismatiche 7 (Milan, 2008), pp. 45-7.
