These three specimens from the same dies have the unusual obv. legend ΑΥΤΟΚΡΑΤ ΚΑΙΣΑ ΟΥΕΣΠΑΣΙΑΝΟΥ, the only instance of its occurence at Alexandria: O Milne 413, Cop 191 and Frankfurt 181. The explanation must be that it is actually an 'Antioch' die, since it looks like a typical obv. die of the Antioch mint in the 'Alexandrian' style. Presumably an obv. die destined for Antioch was used at Alexandria, just as an Alexandrian die was accidentally sent to Antioch and used there: see RPC II, 1949.
