GIC 302
Capricorn r. (in rectangular punch)
rectangular
5 x 4 mm
The capricorn was a standard type for Parium. The capricorn was a symbol of Augustus and was probably adopted as a symbol of the city after a Augustan refoundation of the colonia. GIC notes that the capricorn countermarks on the colonist ploughing types may have indicated a devaluation of the coins.
