Note The obverse legend is possible for years 21-25. The full form ΚΟΜΜΟΔΟϹ is otherwise found in year 21. It may be an indication of a date early in the reign or simply reflect the larger flan size of the AE 33. The Κ of the date is followed by an uncertain letter, possibly a Β. The style of portrait would fit reasonably well with year 22, cf. https://rpc.ashmus.ox.ac.uk/type/25601; https://rpc.ashmus.ox.ac.uk/type/25594. Cf. also https://rpc.ashmus.ox.ac.uk/type/25595 (year 23?). This is one of only two types of drachms from the sole reign of Commodus. It is not from the same obverse die as the other type: https://rpc.ashmus.ox.ac.uk/type/25579, but the portraits are similar and the two drachm types may belong to the same date. The reverse type is also known under Commodus on a hemidrachm of year 28: https://rpc.ashmus.ox.ac.uk/type/25722. It was introduced under Marcus, see https://rpc.ashmus.ox.ac.uk/type/25290.
