Note Some V forms. The same bust type appeared on medallions in AD 183 (TR P VIII) and 184 (TR P VIIII), from which it may have been copied, although it had appeared earlier on coins: Gnecchi II, nos. 69; 150; 152–3 (pls. 82, 9; 88, 4–6). On imperial coins as early as TR P V IMP III (AD 179-80; RIC III, 2).
