Note For the roll compare RIC III: no. 381; Beckmann 2012: 36, fig. 2.17. The type evoked, but did not precisely copy, what appears to be a statue group on roughly contemporary denarii and sestertii from Rome. It is closest to the simplified representation on the denarii, cf. Beckmann 2012: 35-7; 79.
