I 4500 Syria Phoenicia Demetrias Tiberius (?) Æ (21 mm) ]ΒΑΣΤΟΥ ΕΤΟ[ laureate head, right ΔΗ[ ]ΕΩΝ veiled head of Tyche, right The legends were read as ϹƐΒΑϹΤΟϹ ϹƐΒΑϹΤΟΥ ƐΤΟΥϹ Ρ and ΔΗΜΗΤΡΙΕΩΝ by Sestini, followed by Mionnet and Seyrig. Sestini adds the warning '(Lit. Vit.)', presumably as a qualification of the end of the obv. legend. The head is normally identified as that of Tiberius, but resembles that of Caligula at Laodicea (4444). 1 B 18259330, Knobelsdorf 10.07 22 12 1 no no yes https://ikmk.smb.museum/object?id=18259330 [show] [edit]
