ΕΙΟΧΑΡΑΚΕΙΤΩΝ
The name of the city was traditionally read Siocharax, but L. Rutten has shown that the first letter on all known coins is actually an epsilon (and not a lunate sigma), and therefore the city’s name was misread (see Leu WA 24, 3 Dec. 2022, lot 1996 = https://www.acsearch.info/search.html?id=10325128). He reads it as Eiocharax, but it should be corrected to Iocharax (with ει standing for a long ι), in accordance with Hierokles (Synekdemos 668.2, as Ἰουχαραθάξ: https://archive.org/details/hieroclissynecde00hier/page/20/mode/1up).
