The seated figure on the reverse is traditionally identified as Dikaiosyne. On coins of Roman Egypt a standing female figure with scales and a long sceptre is labelled ΔΙΚΑΙΟΣΥΝΗ on coins under Vespasian and Domitian but ΜΟΝΗΤΑ on coins under Marcus Aurelius. Dikaiosyne is often depicted seated but with a cornucopia rather than a sceptre. Moneta is not otherwise shown seated at Alexandria (unless misidentifed as Dikaiosyne), but she is depicted seated on imperial coins, again with a cornucopia rather than a sceptre. A standing figure of Moneta with scales and a sceptre, and money bags at her feet, is shown on AE 23 of years 28 and 29: https://rpc.ashmus.ox.ac.uk/type/25725; https://rpc.ashmus.ox.ac.uk/type/25744. 7 G SNG 4315 = MacDonald III, 485, no. 569 12.12 24 12 1 no no no http://www.s391106508.websitehome.co.uk/PHP/SNG_PHP/04_03_Reply.php?Series=SNGuk&AccessionNo=1202_4315 [show] [edit]

The only cities whose names end with ΝΤΙΩΝ are Byzantium, Pessinus, Cerasus and Trapezus, and only the last three end ΥΝΤΙΩΝ. Pessinus is unlikely, as it made no coins after the joint reign of Caracalla and Geta, and never placed the date at the end of the reverse inscription. The portrait looks more like those of Elagabalus than those of Alexander, which are distinctive at Cerasus, but the tentative identification as Alexander implicit in Rec.'s reading of the date seems supported by the letter Δ, visible on the obverse. 1 G Rec 13a ('[ΚƐΡΑϹΟ]ΥΝΤΙΩ{ΝΕ} ΡΞΒ (?)': 'lecture de M.
