Akarca suggested the reading ΑΥ ΚΑ ΙΟΥ Ϲ ΙΟΥΛΙΟΥϹ ΦΙΛΙΠΠΟΥϹ, but the Fonds Robert and the Berlin specimens, both of the same obv. die, clearly show that it should be ΑΥ Κ ΓΑΙΟΥϹ ΙΟΥΛΙΟΥϹ ΦΙΛΙΠΠΟΥϹ. The legend could end in ϹΒ, as is the case on the London coin, of a different obv. die. Gotha and private collection as other specimens quoted by Akarca. Obverse legend read as ΑΥ Κ ΓΑΙΟΥϹ ΦΙΛΙΠΠΟΥϹ Ϲ(Ε)Β in SNG Mu and given as ΑΥ ΚΑ ΙΟΥ Ϲ ΙΟΥΛΙΟΥϹ ΦΙΛΙΠΠΟΥϹ in Akarca 102. The reading ΓΑΙΟΥϹ ΙΟΥΛΙΟΥϹ ΦΙΛΙΠΠΟΥϹ ϹΒ on the BM coin is certain.
