K. Butcher, who noticed this coin, points out that the types are like 2212, but that the legends run in the opposite direction. The style and direction of legends fit with the larger denominations, RPC 2211 and 2213. Maybe specimen of 2212 illustrated on plate 99 of RPC III would go better with Domitian (possibility of Flavian coins of Euromus in RPC II p. 183)? Or perhaps two separate issues for Trajan? |
